도서소개
이 책은 ≪역상고성(曆象考成)≫ 상·하편에 기록되어 있는 <월리역리(月離曆理)>, <월리역법(月離曆法)>, <월리표(月離表)>의 내용을 연구 노트의 형식으로 빠짐없이 정리하고 천문학적으로, 수학적으로 해설한다. ≪역상고성≫은 1723년 매각성(梅瑴成)과 하국종(何國宗) 등 청(淸)의 천문학자들이 발간한 시헌력 관련 천문역법 책으로 시헌력 초기의 ≪숭정역서(崇禎曆書)≫ 혹은 ≪신법산서(新法算書)≫를 잇고 있다. 초기 역법책들은 티코 브라헤의 역법을 주로 설명하고 있지만 ≪역상고성≫은 이보다 조금 더 발전된 모델들을 설명하고 있다.

저자소개
강민정
서울대학교 지구과학교육과와 (구)민족문화추진회 국역연수원 상임연구부를 졸업한 후 성균관대학교 한문고전번역협동과정에서『구장술해(九章術解)의 연구와 역주』로 박사학위를 받았다. 한국고전번역원 연구원, 성균관대학교 대동문화연구원 수석연구원을 지냈으며, 이후 수년간 천문산법류(天文算法類) 한문 고전의 전문번역가로 활동하다가 지금은 한국고전번역원 부설 고전번역교육원의 교수이다.『승정원일기』,『무명자집』,『칠정산내편』 등의 번역에 참여하였다.
최승언
서울대학교 천문학과를 졸업한 후 미국 미네소타대학교 대학원에서 천체물리학으로 박사학위를 받았다. 서울대학교 지구과학교육과 교수, 한국지구과학회장을 역임하였으며, 지금은 서울대학교 명예교수이다. 저서로는 『천문학의 이해』,『천체물리학의 이해』,『최승언 교수의 천체지구과학 강의』,『숭정역서에 기록된 태양의 운동』,『역상고성에 기록된 태양의 운동』,『역상고성후편에 기록된 태양의 운동』 등이 있다.
