도서소개
이 책에서는 무엇보다 학교폭력의 예방을 강조한다. 엎질러진 물을 닦는 것보다는 물이 엎질러지지 않도록 주의하는 것이 더 중요하다. 또한 학교폭력의 다양한 양상과 원인에 대한 이해를 토대로 실효성이 높고 합리적인 대처방안을 제시하였다.
이 책은 특히 다음과 같은 몇 가지 측면에서 노력을 기울였다.
첫째, 교직 수행에 실제 필요한 내용으로 구성하였으며 특히 각종 법규와 제도가 자주 바뀌는 현실적인 특성을 감안하여 가급적 최신 자료를 제시하도록 노력하였다.
둘째, 교직을 수행하는 데 요구되는 학교폭력에 대한 임상적 경험을 실질적으로 이해하고 이를 수행할 수 있도록 현장 업무 매뉴얼이나 장학 자료를 활용하였다.
셋째, 학교폭력의 이론을 토대로 실천 사례를 다양하게 제시하여 실제 학교 현장의 다양한 학교폭력 상황에 능동적이고 적절하게 대처하는 능력을 함양하도록 사례 중심으로 구성하였다.

저자소개
이병환(책임저자)
경북대학교 대학원에서 교육학 석사 및 박사학위를 받았으며 교육부 교육연구사와 국가전문행정연수원 교수요원을 거쳐 현재 국립순천대학교 사범대학 교직과 및 동 대학원 교육학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 주요 저서로는 『교육사회학(번역서)』(교육과학사: 2006년 문화체육관광부 우수추천도서), 『대안교육의 실천과 모색』(학지사: 2009년 대한민국 학술원 우수추천도서), 『새로운 교육사회학』(태영출판사), 『학교폭력 예방의 이론과 실제』(교육과학사), 『교육행정 및 교육경영 신강』(태영출판), 『교직실무』(동문사) 등이 있으며, 『사교육 발생 요인과 대책』, 『학교부적응 학생의 행동 분석과 지원 방안』, 『혁신학교의 쟁점 탐색』, 『열린교육과 대안교육의 개념 비교』, 『문화다양성 교육정책 분석과 발전 방안 탐색』, 『학교 성 평등교육의 동향과 과제』 등 90여 편의 논문을 발표하였다.

김경선
호남신학대학교 대학원에서 상담학 석사학위를 받았으며 순천대학교 대학원 교육학과 박사과정을 수료하였다. 순천이수초등학교 학교폭력대책자치위원회 위원장을 역임했으며 순천시청소년상담복지센터, 순천대학교 학생상담센터 전임상담원을 거쳐 광주가정법원 위탁보호위원, 법무부 보호관찰 위원으로 활동을 하고 있으며 현재 전남아동보호전문기관 거점심리지원팀 심리치료사로 재직 중이다. 한국상담학회와 집단상담학회 정회원으로 주요 관심 분야는 청소년 상담, 학교상담, 학교폭력 예방과 대처이며 논문으로는 「청소년이 지각한 부모공감이 청소년의 사회적 관심에 미치는 영향」을 비롯한 여러 논문들이 있다.
